Day 2 Saturday Yerevan-Areni-Tatev (cable car)-Devil's bridge-Shaki waterfall-Yerevan

ArmeniaBreakfast in the hotel.
Free day.

Optionally you can order:  Yerevan-Areni-Tatev (cable car) -Devil's bridge-Shaki waterfall-Yerevan - 55 euros per person. Departure to Areni village - Vayots Dzor region. It is famous for various famous wines. Here you can visit some historical monuments, including the Church of the Holy Mother of God and, of course, taste the famous Areni wine. Next, we go to the Tatev Monastery - the first church in the Tatev complex was a modest chapel built in the 4th century. The monastery played an important role in the history of the region, becoming its political, spiritual and cultural center. In the 10th century, a school was founded in the monastery, where they studied the humanities and the illustration of the manuscript. Before the monastery, we will make a stop at one of the wonders of Armenia, the “Devil's Bridge”. For thousands of years, water and wind have created this miracle of nature, grinding and cutting through the frozen lava. The width of this natural bridge, along which the road to the Tatev Monastery passes, is 60 m, the length is 30 m. Not far from the bridge, you can plunge into the warm healing springs, surrounded by stalactites of bizarre shades. The most daring can go down to the river to look into the mysterious grottoes under the springs. In 2010, the longest cable car in the world, “Wings of Tatev” (5.7 kilometers long), was opened, along which we will return back from the monastery. Then we follow to the southern part of Armenia. Just a few kilometers from Sisian is the Shaki waterfall. Hidden in one of the secluded corners of Syunik, the waterfall appears to the audience with its indescribable beauty. Here the day is filled with the music of slowly falling water, which, in harmony with the panorama of the majestic mountain nature, completes the magnificent landscape. End of the tour, return to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 3 Sunday Harichavank – Gyumri – Black Fortress – City Life Museum

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we head to the west of the country, closer to the border with Turkey, to visit the ancient Armenian city of Gyumri, which has a dramatic and glorious history. In 1988, during an earthquake, the city was completely destroyed. Walking along the cobblestones of the once magnificent old city, which has undergone destruction, you will feel the atmosphere of drama: beautiful old houses with a spectacular decor of red and black tuff and, upon closer inspection, turn out to be disfigured cracks, and fragments of historical sights can still be seen lying right on earth. Further we keep the way to the Black Fortress. On the elevated western outskirts of Gyumri, which was the center of the city in the 19th century, a gloomy cylindrical building of black tuff rises on a hill. This height has long been strategic in military terms, and after the entry of the Armenian territories into the Russian Empire, the construction of the Black Sentry fortress began here. Designed to protect the borders from the Persian and Turkish threats, it has been perfectly preserved and is a semicircular barracks, as well as the remains of a Cossack post and settlement. On the way back to the capital, we will make the last stop at the Harichavank monastery (7-13th century). The ancient monastery of Harichavank is a very interesting work of architectural art. The fact is that large stone blocks of various colors were used in the construction of buildings. As a result, the walls of the monastery have an unusual picturesque appearance with a peculiar ornament. End of the tour, Return to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 4 Monday Yerevan-Garni-Geghard-Lake Sevan – Yerevan

Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the pagan temple of Garni in 77, the only Hellenistic temple that has survived to this day in the entire region. Not far from it is the famous Geghard rock monastery of the 5th-14th century, which consists of a large elevated temple and three churches carved into solid rock in the vicinity of dozens of caves. Geghard Monastery is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Then we head to the pearl of Armenia - Lake. Sevan, osmotor of the Sevanavank monastery on the peninsula. Return to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.
