DAY 1. October 9: Quito (airport) - transfer upon arrival
Arrival in the capital of Ecuador (2850 m). Your guide and transport will be waiting for you at the Quito International Airport Terminal to take you directly to your hotel. Hotel accommodation. Overnight stay.
DAY 2. October 10: Sightseeing tour of Quito
Today you will visit the center of Quito, one of the most beautiful historical cities in South America, which has been declared a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. During the tour, you will visit the historical and business part of the city and see such attractions: the Legislative Palace, the colonial center, Independence Square, the Carodella Palace (government palace), the Metropolitan Cathedral, the La Compañía and San Francisco churches and much more. Here you will find the best views of Quito and its surrounding snow-capped volcanoes!
Next, you will visit the Middle of the World monument. This is a unique place where you can put one foot in the Northern Hemisphere and the other in the Southern Hemisphere. Not far from the Middle of the World there is also an interesting open-air museum called Yinti Xiang. He explains the solar system, the influence of the position of the equator on gravity, and ancient cultures and their characteristics. This place is definitely worth a visit!. Overnight at the hotel. DAY 3. October 11: Quito - Otavalo - Quito
In the morning you will be met at the hotel lobby. In about two hours you will reach Otavalo. This city is famous for its weaving, music and culture. The indigenous community of Otavalo is one of the most prosperous in Ecuador - their music and art is popular not only in Ecuador but throughout the world. In the market you will find all kinds of souvenirs at low prices. In the afternoon, you will visit the main places around Otavalo and the city of Cotacachi, famous for its leather products. Afterwards, you will visit Lake Cuicocha. This lake is located in the old crater of a still active volcano. There you can admire the beautiful view of the volcano Imbabura and Cotacachi, as well as the nearby valley with the cities of Otavalo and Ibarra. Return to Quito. Overnight at the hotel. DAY 4. October 12: Quito - Cotopaxi - Banos
Today you will have a trip to the Alley of Volcanoes. The first stop will be Cotopaxi National Park, this nature reserve is located at the foot of the world's highest active snow-capped volcano (5897 m.). You will continue your way to the park and stop at Lake Limpiopungo at an altitude of 3800 m. Here you can take an acclimatizing walk, watching semi-wild horses, many exotic birds. On clear days, it offers simply stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. In the afternoon you will visit a beautiful rose plantation (on request for an additional fee). At this farm, you will see the famous Ecuadorian rose and learn all about its life cycle. At the end of the tour, you will be taken to Banos. Overnight at the hotel. Meals - breakfast.
DAY 5. October 13: Banos
Today you will visit one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Ecuador "El Paion del Diablo". Banos is a region that is located near the Amazon, so the weather here can change within 15 minutes. Also during the tour you will visit the Agoyan waterfall, which is also called the Gate of Heaven. Upon your return to Baños, you can take a pleasant walk through the center, visiting the local sights and souvenir shops, or simply enjoy a delicious meal in one of the many restaurants. DAY 6. October 14: Banos - Riomamba - Cuenca
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure for a tour of Riobamba. Riobamba is an important historical and cultural landmark of Ecuador. It was the first city founded by the Spaniards in 1530. Riobamba was completely destroyed by an earthquake in 1797, but rebuilt a few years later 14 km (9 miles) further from its original location, near a village named Cajabamba.

DAY 7. October 15: El Cajas – Cuenca city tour

DAY 8. October 16: National Park Cuenca - Caias - Guayacul
One day tour of one of the most impressive regions of Ecuador, which is famous for its mysterious lakes and enchanted forests! You will start your tour from one of the highest points in the park, from where you will start your way down, admiring the diversity and beauty of the local flora along the way. You will also visit a section of the park where one of the oldest and tallest trees in the world, polylepis, grows.
The next destination is a cocoa farm (if it is open, entrance tickets for an additional fee), where you will be told everything about the production and cultivation of cocoa beans, which are world famous for their special delicate aroma. Cocoa plays a very important role in the history and economy of Ecuador, as it produces 4% of all cocoa in the world and 70% of premium cocoa. Then you will be taken to Guayaquil. It is a populous city in Ecuador; and the country's main port, which is currently working on a project to restore the historic Simon Bolivar Pier. It will be a symbolic center of the city, a combination of green areas and shops. Many of the area's 400-year-old houses have been converted into art galleries and several well-known artists have studios in the area. Overnight at the hotel. Meals - breakfast.
DAY 9. October 17: Guayaquil - Galapagos - Santa Cruz
Airport transfer. Departure to the Galapagos Islands via Guayaquil to Baltra Airport, where you will be met by your guide. Lunch at a local restaurant. The Santa Cruz Highlands is very well known for its fauna and vegetation. You can even see turtles in their natural habitat. The weather can vary from cloudy and rainy to sunny and hot, which creates favorable conditions for vegetation growing here. Another interesting feature is the lava tunnels. DAY 10. October 18: Visit to Bartolome Island
This island offers the best photos of the surroundings from the cliff. You will have one hour of moderate climb in the mountains, among hardened lava and endemic vegetation with a beautiful view of the surrounding islands. DAY 11. October 19: Puerto Ayora (Charles Darwin Research Station - Tortuga Bay)
The Charles Darwin Research Station will help you get acquainted with the evolutionary processes on the islands of the archipelago, as well as you will visit the giant tortoise breeding center, where various species of tortoises and iguanas breed and live in a safe environment, learn about the work of the center and the importance of working to preserve the ecosystem islands.
In the afternoon, Tortuga Bay awaits you, perhaps the most beautiful beach in the Galapagos Islands. To get there, you will hike along a rocky path surrounded by cacti, palo santo and matasarno trees. At the end of the journey, a wonderful white sand beach awaits you, where you can relax and swim, snorkel, watch the colonies of marine iguanas, pelicans, Darwin's bindweeds, sharks, sea turtles. DAY 12. October 20: free day
Today you will have a free day to spend exploring the area. The Galapagos Islands are volcanic islands located on either side of the Equator in the Pacific Ocean, 926 km (575 miles) west of mainland Ecuador. The islands are well known for their huge number of endemic species, studied by Charles Darwin during his travels. His notes made at this time contributed to the development of Darwin's theory of evolution on natural selection. The archipelago consists of 18 large islands, 3 small islands and 107 rocks and islets.
