We will begin our journey in Barcelona — a city where modernism, history, and the Mediterranean atmosphere intertwine at every step. We will see the Sagrada Família and other iconic works by Antoni Gaudí, stroll through the Gothic Quarter and Ciutadella Park, admire the Arc de Triomf, and make our way to the waterfront and port.
After lunch, we will go up to Montjuïc, which offers incredible panoramic views of the city. We will see the Olympic Ring, visit Arenas de Barcelona and the Hospital de Sant Pau.
We will end the day with a gastronomic masterclass. At Mercat de la Boqueria, we will buy fresh ingredients and, together with a chef, prepare paella and sangria. In the evening, we will enjoy a flamenco show with tapas or a concert at the Palau de la Música Catalana.
Today we will head to Montserrat — the sacred mountain of Catalonia, known for its unusual rock formations, basilica, and the Black Madonna. We will walk along mountain trails, admire panoramic views of the region, and visit lesser-known caves that inspired Gaudí and many other artists.
After lunch in a traditional Catalan masia, we will visit one of the oldest wineries in Europe — Codorníu. We will learn about the history of Catalan winemaking, taste cava, and take a train ride through the famous underground wine tunnels.
Alternatively, instead of the winery, we can visit El Puig de la Balma — an ancient house built into the rock, where the atmosphere of medieval Catalonia can still be felt. Another option is the majestic Cardona Castle, with its rich thousand-year history, salt mountain and mines that remind us of the ancient sea that once covered these lands.
This day is dedicated to Salvador Dalí and the places that shaped his creativity. It is one of the most atmospheric days of the trip: the sea, narrow streets, whitewashed houses, art, and the love story of Dalí and Gala. We will travel through the famous “Dalí Triangle,” visit the Dalí Theatre-Museum, the artist’s house in Cadaqués, and Púbol Castle, which Salvador Dalí gifted to his muse Gala.
Lunch will be served in a traditional Catalan restaurant.
After that, the narrow streets of the Costa Brava, white houses by the sea, and the story of one of the most remarkable artists of the 20th century await us. If desired, we can stay overnight in Cadaqués and watch the sunset in one of the most atmospheric towns on the coast. In Dalí’s house-museum in Portlligat, a special space has been preserved with large windows and a viewing area for watching the sunrise over the sea. The artist intentionally created this place so that every morning he could be among the first to witness the birth of a new day over the Mediterranean.
Today we will discover a different Catalonia — medieval, quiet, and almost fairy-tale-like. We will visit ancient Catalan villages where the famous series Game of Thrones, the film Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, and many historical and medieval films were shot.
We will visit Besalú and see its landmark — the 11th-century bridge. We will walk through the historic Jewish Quarter and then head to Castellfollit de la Roca — a town built on a narrow volcanic cliff above an abyss. Here, we will visit thermal springs and bathe in them.
Then we will continue to Rupit, where, among forests, mountain rivers, and ancient architecture, we can walk to the highest waterfall in Catalonia and enjoy the landscapes of the volcanic region of La Garrotxa. We will go up to an impressive viewpoint and have lunch at a restaurant overlooking all of Catalonia — among mountains, clouds, and ancient churches. If desired, we can stay overnight to experience the atmosphere of this region without rushing.
This day is dedicated to the coast: maritime Catalonia and the south of France await us.
We will head to oyster farms, where we will enjoy fresh oysters and seafood right by the sea. On the way, we will stop by the pink lakes — a natural phenomenon with an unusual water shade that creates an almost unreal, “otherworldly” landscape.
The final stop of the day is Collioure, a coastal town with a Catalan soul that inspired artists for many years. Here, narrow streets descend toward the sea, houses are painted in warm colors, and the coastline breathes with the calm of a Mediterranean evening.
We will leave the coast behind and ascend into the Pyrenees — where the roads become mountainous, the air grows fresher, and the views open up one after another. On the way, we will pass through Puigcerdà — a town on the border between Spain and France, surrounded by mountains and valleys.
In the small principality of Andorra la Vella, we will experience a combination of a mountain city and modern thermal relaxation at Caldea, where warm pools and panoramic views of the Pyrenees create a feeling of complete renewal. We will have lunch at a restaurant serving traditional Andorran cuisine, walk through the Gothic Quarter, and visit the Parliament of Andorra.
We will also see one of the most beautiful lakes in Andorra — the high-mountain Engolasters Lake, hidden among pine forests. From the observation decks there, we will admire wonderful views of the valley.
At the end of the day, we will become spectators of a light show.
This day combines antiquity, modernism, and the modern energy of entertainment.
In Tarragona, we will dive into the Roman past of Catalonia: we will see the amphitheatre above the sea, the old town with its stone streets, and the city walls that still preserve the feeling of a great empire.
Next — Reus, the birthplace of Antoni Gaudí, where modernist architecture and the atmosphere of old quarters create a distinctive Catalan rhythm. We will visit the Gaudí Centre and see stunning buildings designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. A visit to the Vermouth Museum with a tasting will be another step toward understanding the local gastronomic culture.
If desired, the day can end at the large amusement park PortAventura World, where you can spend the evening or stay overnight and fully immerse yourself in the world of attractions.
The final day of the journey is dedicated to the Costa Brava — one of the most picturesque corners of the Mediterranean. We will spend it exactly as the soul desires.
If desired, we can greet the sunrise during a hot air balloon flight over Montserrat, watching the mountain ranges, villages, and vineyards of Catalonia awaken.
Alternatively, we can go on a boat trip along the coast through Tossa de Mar, Lloret de Mar and Blanes, where cliffs, bays and pine-covered slopes follow one another. We can also visit the Marimurtra Botanical Garden — a picturesque garden on a cliff above the sea, where plants, architecture, and panoramic views merge into one harmonious space.
If we feel like relaxing, we can spend the day in the thermal pools of Vichy Catalan. Spa treatments, massages, and mineral baths will offer a well-deserved rest after an eventful journey, while the historic atmosphere and early 20th-century architecture will complete the experience.
Or we can head to the picturesque villages of Vall de Núria and Queralbs. A mountain train route will take us to a sacred valley among the Pyrenees. Vall de Núria is considered a spiritual and historical place in Catalonia: here stands the ancient Sanctuary of the Virgin of Núria, a pilgrimage site. In the valley, we can stay overnight, take a boat ride on the mountain lake, go hiking, climb even higher by cable car, and spend several days surrounded by silence, mountains, and incredible nature.
