Nigeria: Lagos, Lekki Conservation Centre, Nike Art Gallery, Makoko Floating Village, historic Badagry (slave museum, the country’s first two-storey building), cultural centres of Abeokuta and Oshogbo.
Upon landing in Lagos, we complete airport formalities, meet the local team and head to the hotel to rest after the flight.
The day begins with an introduction to Lagos. We walk through the Lekki Conservation Centre, visit the Nike Art Gallery, explore the Makoko Floating Village. Overnight in Lagos.
The journey takes us to Abeokuta, known for its traditional heritage, historical sites and natural landscapes.
We continue toward Oshogbo, famous for its artistic culture and the Sacred Grove of Osun.
We fly to Douala, transfer to the hotel and relax.
We explore the central districts of Douala, its markets, craftsmen and colonial streets.
The route leads toward Melong, where we admire the spectacular Ekom Nkam Waterfalls, where the movie "Tarzan: The Legend of Greystoke" was filmed.
We then visit the Civilization Museum of Dschang and the lake in front of it.
After that we continue to Bafoussam, briefly stopping at the Metché Waterfall.
We explore the Royal Palace of Bandjoun, then the Palace and Museum of Baham, along with the sacred Grotte du Fovu area.
In Foumban, we visit the Sultan’s Palace, the museum and the handicraft market. Overnight in Koutaba.
We hike Mt Mbapit (1,988 m) and see Lake Mfou, located near the summit.
After descending, we continue toward Limbe and stay in Bakingili.
We explore the Bakingili Lava Field, created by the 1999 eruption of Volcano Cameroon. The viewing platform offers panoramic views of the cooled lava.
We observe animals at the Limbe Wildlife Centre, including drills, mandrills, gorillas, chimpanzees, various monkeys, alligators, snakes, owls and bushbucks.
The day continues in Bimbia, the historical point of departure for enslaved Africans during the transatlantic trade.
In Buea, we see the Bismarck Fountain, the German Cemetery, and the Jesko von Puttkamer Palace (now a presidential residence).
Transfer to Douala Airport and international departure.
