The distance from El Calafate to the glacier is 80 km, and the entire route is paved. From the start, the journey offers delightful surprises. Shortly after leaving town, on the right, you can admire Argentino Lake with its Round Bay, home to a rich variety of bird species, such as black-necked swans, flamingos, steam ducks, coots, and geese. The landscape is painted in shades of yellow due to the coirón grasses, among which the white and short varieties stand out. During the first 40 km, we will cross the Patagonian steppe before arriving at the entrance to the national park, where the scenery changes to arboreal vegetation, primarily from the notofagus family (ñires, cherry trees, lengas), along with occasional cinnamon trees and colorful flowers, including the striking red notro of the Patagonian Andean forest.
Upon arrival at "the curve of sighs"—so named because it is the first panoramic viewpoint of the Perito Moreno Glacier—we will stop for photos and then proceed to Puerto Bajo las Sombras. After visiting the port, we will explore the catwalks, where a system of balconies and walkways offers multiple routes and incredible vantage points to view the glacier up close. Following free time for walks and optional lunch, we will return to El Calafate and drop you off at your hotel.

Full Day 14-hour Torres del Paine National Park with Box Lunch
Departure from hotel in El Calafate starts at 7:00 AM. After a 2.5-hour journey through the Patagonian steppe from north to south, we arrive at the “Cancha Carrera” border post. From there, we continue through the scenic landscapes of southern Chile, ultimately reaching Torres del Paine National Park (named "Blue Towers" in the Tehuelche language due to the predominant color of the peaks).
The journey from El Calafate to the park takes approximately 3.5 hours. Inside the park, we alternate between rides in our exclusive Overland 4×4 truck and hikes. The park offers a wide variety of roads and numerous hiking trails, and because we organize the excursion in small groups, we can adjust the itinerary and hiking routes to suit the group's preferences. By default, our programs are designed with low-difficulty activities, but we can modify the difficulty level if requested. All hikes are guided by authorized trekking professionals. Using our Overland trucks, we will travel to key locations, from which we embark on hikes leading to stunning viewpoints that offer the most breathtaking sights of the park.
Around noon, we will enjoy a picnic in a scenic mountain location near the Paine waterfall, sheltered by our Overland trucks. The lunch boxes provided are abundant, ensuring you remain well-fed throughout the adventure. The specific viewpoints we visit depend on weather conditions, and the itinerary is adjusted at the guide’s discretion. Typically, if the Towers are visible in the morning, we enter the park via Laguna Amarga, offering panoramic views of the Towers. Here, we will descend to enjoy our picnic along the Paine River, where tables and benches are set in a tranquil and wind-sheltered area. For those seeking a more extreme experience, you can pack your lunch and hike with the guide along the Fauna Path to a panoramic viewpoint. This moderately challenging hike takes about 50 minutes and involves some uphill walking. Afterward, we return to the vehicle and make various stops at scenic viewpoints such as Laguna de los Cisnes and Mirador Superior del Nordenskjold before reaching Salto Grande. Here, we take a guided 2-hour walk to the Cuernos del Paine Viewpoint along Lake Nordenskjold. Our journey continues to another lookout point near Lake Pehoe, where you will enjoy one of the most iconic views of the park, with the "Cuernos" and the French Valley framed by Lakes Pehoe and Nordenskjold.
