We arrive in Luanda, the capital of Angola.

After the flight, we slow down and ease into the journey. A relaxed walk through the city gives us our first feel of Africa. We begin discovering Luanda — a city of contrasts where colonial heritage meets modern life, shaped by the Atlantic Ocean.

This day is all about first impressions and a smooth start.

In the morning, we continue exploring the capital and dive into its story.

We head to Fortaleza de São Miguel — a historic fortress overlooking the city and ocean. We then visit Mausoleum of Agostinho Neto — a powerful symbol dedicated to Agostinho NetoNext, we explore Palácio de Ferro — a unique structure often linked to Gustave EiffelWe finish at Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Nazaré.

After that, we fly to Lubango — where a wilder Angola begins.

Today we head into the deep south of Angola — where nature takes over and landscapes become truly dramatic.

We pass through Chibia, a former colonial town that still holds its historical charm. Our route leads us toward the Namibe region — a wild and striking natural area.

We visit:

Complexo da Nossa Senhora do Monte — a hilltop spiritual complex

Igreja da Missão — a historic missionary church

Museu Regional da Huíla — a regional history museum

Later, we stop for a picnic at the breathtaking Tundavala Gap. Here, the land dramatically drops into vast valleys, revealing endless views over southern Angola.

Today we step into a world where traditions remain unchanged for generations.

We travel to Oncocua — a remote region reached by long dirt roads (around 6 hours). Along the way, we stop in small villages to connect with local communities and observe their way of life. This is one of the most ethnographically rich areas of Angola, home to the Muhimba, Muhakaona, Hakaona peoples, and the isolated Tua group.

We witness a lifestyle untouched by modern pace — raw, authentic, and deeply human. In the afternoon, we explore Oncocua — a place where time seems to stand still. At the local market, we meet people from different tribes and see their crafts, food, and traditions.

Overnight in tents or a lodge, close to nature.

Today we say goodbye to Oncocua and travel through the Cahama region toward the lands of the Humbi people.

On the way, we stop in the Xangongo area, where we see some of the widest baobab trees in Africa, as well as traces of the Angolan civil war (1975–2002).

After a picnic lunch, we continue toward the Humbi territory.

We meet local residents and walk through the village. The Humbi people are known for their traditions and distinctive women’s hairstyles made from hair, clay, and ornaments, symbolizing beauty and social status.

Overnight in tents.

Today is dedicated to meeting the Mumuila people.

The Mumuila are a Bantu group traditionally engaged in cattle breeding and agriculture. Women decorate their hair with a mixture of clay and beads and wear large ornaments indicating their social status.

After visiting the village, we return to Lubango.

We then continue toward the Namibe region via the famous mountain pass Serra da Leba Pass — one of the most scenic roads in Africa, known for its winding curves and panoramic views.

On the way, we stop at a local market where we may meet representatives of the Mucubal peopleAfter that, we continue to Moçâmedes, the capital of Namibe province.

Overnight in Moçâmedes.

Today we leave early to explore as much as possible in this wild region.

We travel into the Namibe Desert — one of the most beautiful deserts in southern Africa. Here we see the famous shipwreck Vanessa shipwreck lying among the sand dunes.

We continue to Colinas do Namibe — red hills and rock formations resembling canyons.

We also visit the natural arch Arco do Namibe. After that, we explore the fishing village of Tombwa on the Atlantic coast.

In the evening, we fly back to Luanda. Overnight near the airport.

In the morning, we travel to the Malanje region to visit Kalandula Falls.

This is one of the largest waterfalls in Africa, with water falling from a height of about 100 meters, forming a natural amphitheater in the tropical forest.

We start from the viewpoint and then descend to the base to experience the scale up close.

Today we visit Pedras Negras de Pungo Andongo — massive black rock formations rising above the savannah.

This place is connected to the history of resistance led by Queen Nzinga.

We walk among the rocks and learn about the legends and history of the region.

After that, we return to Luanda. Overnight at the hotel.

Today we complete our journey by exploring the cultural side of the capital.

We visit National Museum of Anthropology of Angola.

In the evening — departure to Europe.
