COMOROS

Route features.

The Comoros are famous for their unique wildlife, which "mastered" these lands in the era of the separation of Madagascar from the African continent. Numerous lava fields and chaos of rocks, framed by thickets of relict forms of vegetation - this is the natural appearance of these unique islands. About 60 species of plants grow here and about 37 species of animals that are not found anywhere else on the planet, and some of the oldest forms of life on Earth were found in the ocean waters off the coast of the Comoros. Conservation of the natural beauties of the islands is facilitated by the fact that Comoros is still one of the most exotic areas on the planet, while being the least frequently visited and least developed in terms of tourism of all the islands in the region. 

1 DAY. Arrival in Moroni, the capital of the Comoros. Obtaining a visa on arrival ($40). Transfer to a comfortable 3* hotel, rest.

2 DAY. After breakfast, excursion to the fishing village of Iconi, sightseeing of the ruins of the Sultan's palace built in the 18th century. Visit to Lake Marabu and historical monuments in Drouany. Plantations of spices and ylang-ylang in Kafuni. Return to Moroni, visiting the old town and the national museum. Overnight at the hotel in Moroni.

3 DAY. We devote the whole day to getting to know the island of Grande Comore. First we visit the village of Mitsamuli, widely known for having the best dance company on the island and excellent diving conditions (including good facilities). Salt Lake (Lak Sale), a wonderful beach in the town of Shomoni. Dragon Rocks overlooking Turtle Island. Return to Moroni, overnight.

4 DAY. Flight to Moheli Island. Accommodation in a bungalow by the sea. Moheli is the smallest, wildest and least visited of all the Comoros. The rich volcanic soil, magnificent forests and beautiful pastures of the island are complemented by picturesque valleys, usually overgrown with coconut groves, old coffee or cocoa plantations, ylang-ylang forests or crop plantations. However, even the magnificent inland rainforests, white beaches and the beautiful tan that you can get here in just a couple of days do not make up for the obvious lack of some goods, development and government attention. There are only a few places where it is worth staying, but only if you have a tent and a large company, first of all, these are the beautiful beaches of Kave Hoani, Domoni, Miringoni and Niumachua.

5 - 6 DAYS. Holidays on the island of Moheli. The possibility of diving, snorkeling, just serene walks, and, subject to the right season, the contemplation of sea turtles that “creep out” on the beaches to lay their eggs.

DAY 7. Flight back to Grande Comore. Accommodation in a 4 * hotel on the seashore. Relaxation.

8 DAY. Flight to your homeland or to Madagascar, or to Dar es Salaam, or wherever your heart desires.
